Bart Verschaffel (B)

Bart Verschaffel (b. 1956, lives in Leuven), architectural historian. He obtained his Ph.D. in philosophy at the University of Leuven in 1985. He was a member of staff at the Flemish Interuniversity Council, a lecturer at the College of Social Studies in Heverlee, a lecturer in art philosophy at St. Luke's Higher Institute of Art in Brussels, a member of staff in the BRT Television Arts Department, a visiting lecturer at PARTS dance school in Brussels and a visiting coach at the State Academy of Art in Amsterdam. He is a part-time head lecturer in Semiotics at the University of Antwerp, professor at the St. Aloysius College of Economics in Brussels, part-time lecturer in the Department of Architecture, Urban Planning and Spatial Planning at the Faculty of Applied Sciences at the University of Leuven and part-time head lecturer in the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Ghent (architectural theory and architectural criticism). He is a member of the editorial staff of 'De Witte Raaf', an art periodical published in Brussels.
