Cerith Wyn Evans

While studying at St. Martin's School of Art and the Royal College in London, he devoted himself mainly to film and video film. He was part of the London avant-garde film scene and assisted Derek Jarman. During the eighties he made video-clips for bands such as The Fall and Psychic TV, and worked together with the choreographer Michael Clark. Wyn Evans was also a lecturer at the AA (Architectural Association) in London. He has held solo exhibitions at the Centre for Contemporary Art in Kitakyushu, Japan (1998), Tate Britain (2000), Kunstverein Frankfurt (2004), White Cube, London (1996, 2003), Deitch Projects, New York (1997), Galerie Neu, Berlin (2000, 2003), Daniel Buchholz Gallery, Cologne (2001, 2004) and Galerie Georg Kargl in Vienna (2001, 2004). He has participated in international art events such as Documenta XI in Kassel (2002) and the Venice Biennale (2003). In Belgium his work was exhibited at the 'Lost Past' exhibition in Ypres (2002) and the 'ForwArt' exhibition of contemporary art in Brussels (2002).
