Jos De Gruyter

Jos De Gruyter (b. 1965 / Geel, Belgium. Lives in Brussels) Jos De Gruyter studied at St Luke's Institute for the Visual Arts in Brussels and at the State Academy of Visual Arts in Amsterdam. Harald Thys also studied at St Luke's Institute for the Visual Arts in Brussels and at the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht. Since 1988 they have worked together on an occasional basis. They have had exhibitions at Galerie EOF in Paris (2003); the Middelheim Open-Air Museum (2002) (catalogue and DVD); Ten Wyngaert Cultural Centre, Brussels (2002); Etablissement d'en face, Brussels (2000). They have also shown their work at the following group exhibitions and festivals: House of Games, Festival a/d Werf, Utrecht (2001); Galerie Xavier Hufkens, Brussels (2001); Marres, Maastricht (2001); Büro Friedrich, Berlin (2000); Kunsthalle, Basel (2000); Daad-Galerie, Berlin (1999). Their films include: 'De Pot' (2001), 'Parallelogram' (2000), 'Het Beest' (2000), 'De Vloek' (1999), 'De Deserteur' (1997) and 'Het Experiment' (1995).
