Olivier Foulon

This 30-year-old artist studied at the Jan van Eyck Academie in Maastricht and in 2005 won the Prix de la Jeune Peinture Belge. His works often take as their theme the reproduction of historical paintings and contemporary works of art.
In 2005 he was awarded the 'Just' grant, given by a private patron in Düsseldorf, which involves an exhibition and a publication. As part of this he made 'redites et ratures' (2006), a 45 rpm vinyl record, on which he did a version of Marcel Broodthaers' 'Interview with a Cat' (1970). His other publications include 'L'Enseigne de Gersaint', 'Het Kabinet, Gent' (2004), 'En coulisses, parfois, les artistes changent de costumes. Actualités. He has given solo exhibitions at Galerie Nadja Vilenne, Liège (2006), Projekt-Just, Düsseldorf (2006), Marres Center for Contemporary Art, Maastricht (2004), Het Kabinet, Ghent (2004) and Etablissement d'en face projects, Brussels (2004). He has taken part in group exhibitions at Artists Space, New York (2006), Paleis voor Schone Kunsten, Brussels (2005), Casino Luxembourg (2005), Generali Foundation, Vienna (2004), Neuer Aachener Kunstverein, Aachen (2002) and Argos, Brussels (2001).

Olivier Foulon (born 1976 Brussels) is a Belgian artist. From 1991 to 1995, he studied at the Institut Saint-Luc, Brussels; from 1995 to 1999, he studied at the Ecole de Recherche Graphique, Brussels; from 2001 to 2002, he studied at the Jan van Eyck Academie.
