Uschi Huber (D)
Uschi Huber (b. 1966) lives in Cologne and studied at Brighton University (UK) and the Staatliche Kunstakademie in Dusseldorf. Since 1995 she has published the cult photographic magazine 'OHIO' with Jörg Paul Janka (Hans-Peter Feldmann and Stefan Schneider were also co-publishers until 1998). This magazine contains only pictures without text, originating from private individuals, institutional archives, newspapers, advertising and the Internet. Thirteen issues have so far been published, partly on VHS. 'OHIO' has been represented at various exhibitions including the following: 'Out of Print', IPS Gallery, Birmingham (2004), 'Image Transgenre', le Magasin, Grenoble (2003), 'Manifesta 4', Frankfurt am Main (2002), 'Naturae', Kunsthaus Essen (2001) and 'Another & Another & Another act of seeing urban spac'e, deSingel international arts Centre, Antwerp (1997). Huber has in addition published her own thematic series of photos in such monographs as 'Autobahn' (2000) and 'Anlagen' (2002). She has shown her work at several exhibitions including 'Photo Espana', Madrid (2004), 'Hotel Hotel', Landesmuseum Graz (2003), 'Chelsea Kunstraum', Cologne (2002) and 'Trade', Fotomuseum Winterthur (2001).
