Of all European cities of art, Venice is undoubtedly the one that appeals most to the imagination. Not only does it have an extraordinary historical heritage, but also numerous cultural events such as the annual film festival and the alternating art and architecture biennales.
On the occasion of the eleventh architectural biennale and the '1907... after the party' exhibition, deSingel and the Flemish Architecture Institute are organising an architectural trip to Venice in association with the Davidsfonds.
In the first part of this four-day trip we visit the highlights of the world's most important cultural contemporary architecture event. Your guide for these two days will be Roeland Dudal, the coordinator of the exhibition in the Belgian pavilion and an architectural expert. The programme for days three and four covers the Venetian gems of architectural history. The architectural historian Dirk De Meyer will give you the benefit of his knowledge. A confrontation between contemporary and historical architecture.
