Across - CENTRAL
Together with A+ Architecture in Belgium and the University of Liège’s Faculty of Architecture, the Flemish Architecture Institute will again be giving the stage to architects from both sides of the language border. In the lecture series ACROSS, two young French-language firms will speak in Antwerp, and two Dutch-language firms in Liège. Every speaker will be introduced by a senior architect from the other language region.
CENTRAL ofaau (office for architecture and urbanism) is a Brussels-based architectural firm that was founded in 2015 by Valentin Piret, Radim Louda, Paul Mouchet and Pierre Burquel. All four partners studied at La Cambre’s Faculty of Architecture in Brussels, after which they worked in various international bureaus. Together they developed an architectonic and urban development approach on different scales, based on the conviction that architecture is created by virtue of the connection that it makes with its environment. The firm regularly collaborates with photographer Maxime Delvaux and illustrator Eva le Roi, a partnership that allows them to view their own work in a different way.
For the last two years, the firm has frequently been in the spotlight thanks to a series of competition wins in Brussels, Flanders and Wallonia.
The lecture by CENTRAL will be introduced by the architect Freek Persyn (51N4E).
