ACROSS
Goffart Polomé Architectes
The ACROSS lecture series offers a platform to young Belgian architects from both sides of the language border. Four young French-language firms will speak in Antwerp, and four Dutch-language firms in Liège. Every speaker will be introduced by a senior architect from the other language region.
Brice Polomé and Damien Goffart studied together at the ESA Saint-Luc Bruxelles. After graduating, Polomé worked for five years at the firm of Swiss architect Serge Grard. Goffart was active at various Belgian firms before he began working independently. In 2012 the two Charleroi-based architects joined forces and together set up the firm Goffart Polomé Architectes.
When they founded the firm, they submitted a design for two different competitions: a school in Bossière and Eghezée town hall. They were successful, winning first prize in both. After that, competitions followed thick and fast, with their designs almost always winning prizes. In 2016, the interior architect Marie Maerckx joined the team, becoming a partner three years later. In 2019, Goffart Polomé Architectes won the Grand Prix d’Architecture de Wallonie in the category ‘young architect’ with their project for the creche Les Écureuils.
