China's nieuwe megasteden
Onbekende wereldsteden in een snel veranderend land
Over the next few decades 300 million Chinese people will move to cities. Gigantic metropolises on the scale of London and Rio de Janeiro are taking shape at lightning speed. Flemish and Dutch architects are among those working on building these Chinese cities. In association with the journalist Michiel Hulshof, the architect Daan Roggeveen (Go West Project, authors of 'How the City Moved to Mr. Sun') and the VAi, deBuren is organising an evening on the topic of these new megacities, the people who live there and the challenges facing China. On 29 March at deSingel Michiel Hulshof and Daan Roggeveen will talk about their expedition to China's new metropolises with the aid of abundant visuals. About the people they spoke to and the stories they noted down. The guest speaker is Jeanne Boden (of China Conduct), an author, consultant and Flemish expert on China.
