Hildegard De Vuyst works as a dramaturge for the director Alain Platel. She has so far assisted him in making such productions as 'La Tristeza Complice', 'Iets op Bach', 'Wolf' and 'VSPRS'. In his new piece, 'Pitié', which will open in September, the main focus is on pity. Apart from the fact that Fabrizio Cassol's music is based on Bach's 'Matthew Passion', few elements were fixed at the start of the rehearsal process. At Amarant's request, Hildegard De Vuyst kept a production diary that enables us to trace how 'Pitié' came into being. This diary gives you a unique view of the rehearsals.
