Ergün Erkoçu and Cihan Bu?daci have devised a surprising concept for a modern mosque in the Netherlands: the Polder Mosque. The building arouses debate that goes beyond such architectural aspects as the presence of the dome or the height of the minaret. The new mosques literally make Islam more visible in our surroundings. This gives rise to all sorts of statements regarding the successful integration, or not, of the Muslim and intercultural society.
