Ensembles - Architectuur en ambacht
vernissage
Crafts are often associated with nostalgia and forgotten skills. But the combination of old crafts and new techniques and the rethinking of the organisation of brainwork and manual work can also lead to innovation. In 'Ensembles', projects from various European countries and items from the Antwerp Provincial Architecture Archives show how innovative and enriching the cooperation between designers and producers can be.
'Ensembles' also has an eye to the poetry of the resulting objects: a series of window frames that result from teamwork by architecture students and pupils on a vocational course, an installation that shows the beauty of a welded joint in the structure of a building, and an object that gives the bricklayer an infinite number of possible ways to bring a brick to life.
