Muziekstage . Institute for Living Voice 2010 olv. David Moss
The Institute for Living Voice is an international project in which Muziektheater Transparant focuses on the diversity and richness of the vocal art. Every year, David Moss, artistic leader of this exceptional initiative, brings together a group of vocalists from a variety of genres for workshops, concerts, debates and talks. Using an approach that is more exploratory than didactic, he pitches the activities at everyone who is interested in the human voice. Amongst the more than fifty guests over the last few years you'll find names like Meredith Monk, Barbara Bonney, Diamanda Galas, Hilliard Ensemble, John Giorno, Greetje Bijma, Jaap Blonk, Phil Minton and many more.
Due to a unique, nomadic approach, every edition is the result of a new partnership with a city and its cultural scene. In this way, the project has not only visited several cities in Flanders, but also Melbourne, Buenos Aires, Berlin and Marseille. Since its foundation in 2000, Institute for Living Voice has organised eleven sessions in ten cities, with more than eight hundred participants from twenty-two countries.
