6h Stage design has grown into an essential artistic component of the contemporary performing arts. POPOK (Postgraduate Performing Arts College, Department of Stage Design) provides talented designers with an insight into this domain and stimulates research into new forms. The course has been in existence for eleven years now, and is housed at deSingel. The next group of graduates will emerge in early January. Under the guidance of the designers Johan Daenen, Niek Kortekaas and Benoit Dugardyn, they have worked on projects for Heiner Müller's Kwartet, the plays of Samuel Beckett, Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream and Wagner's opera Der fliegende Hölländer.
