Workshop Paul Griffiths & Musici deFilharmonie

Last year deFilharmonie successfully launched the 'Re-Mix Orchestra', an improvisation orchestra for young people between the ages of twelve and seventeen. Forty young people with widely varying musical backgrounds spent a whole week developing a composition of their own, which was then performed at the Vooruit in Ghent as part of the Oorsmeer festival. In the 2008 autumn break we plan to work with a second version of the Re-Mix Orchestra. Once again the project will be headed by Paul Griffiths, who also organises similar workshops with the London Symphony Orchestra and others. He will be supported by six musicians who will coach and play together with the participants. The aim is to bring active young musicians into contact with the orchestra and to stimulate their interest in classical music.
