Geert Bekaert (B) & Philippe Rahm (CH)
Every month two personalities (architects, choreographers, philosophers, photographers, historians, artists, designers, writers, etc.) present their favourite books, which are then added to a steadily growing library. So far, 102 speakers have taken part, amounting to a total of 1462 books. This month we shall listen to:
Geert Bekaert (B, 1928), professor emeritus at KU Leuven and TU Eindhoven, and the éminence grise of Belgian architectural criticism. The fourth volume of his 'Collected Essays' was published on the occasion of his eightieth birthday in 2008.
Philippe Rahm (CH, 1967) worked as an architect under the name Décosterd & Rahm until 2004. He is internationally known for the design of experimental and high-performance spaces. His work was shown at the 2008 architectural biennale in Venice.
