Jan Blommaert (B) Linguist. Professor of African linguistics and sociolinguistics at Ghent University. 2004 saw the publication of his book 'Populisme' (with E. Corijn, M. Holthof, D. Lesage). Patrick Janssens (B) Politician. He studied politics and social sciences, was chairman of the sp.a (socialist party) and since 2003 has been mayor of Antwerp.
