1h 10' Belying their youth, Akram Khan and Sidi Larbi have both already gained an excellent reputation in the dance world. There are a few remarkable similarities between them. Both draw on their double cultural identity as a source of inspiration. Both grew up in the West: Khan in London as a child of Bangladeshi parents, and Larbi in Antwerp as the son of a Belgian mother and a Moroccan father. These affinities are the breeding ground for this new duet in a dialogue with live music. They are planning to give this cross-fertilization a long incubation. At the moment of writing, there is no telling what will come of it. The only thing that has already been decided upon is its title, 'Zero Degrees'. It expresses a desire to keep all options open. One thing is certain though: it will be spectacular. Both dancers are gifted with exceptional dance skills and great charisma. The great expectations of this performance are only intensified by the fact that the composer Nitin Sawhney is writing the music and the sculptor Antony Gormley is creating the sets.
