2h The work of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker is based on a meticulous exploration of the link between dance and music; her choreography unfurls from the germ of a composition. Although she embraces all genres, her oeuvre betrays a great love for Bach. “For me, his music carries movement and dance within it in an unparalleled way, and manages to combine the greatest abstraction with a dimension that is concrete, physical, and perhaps for this very reason also transcendent.” For her new dance performance, the choreographer draws on Bach’s polyphonic mastery: the six Brandenburg Concertos, performed live by Baroque orchestra B’Rock, conducted by violinist Amandine Beyer, with whom Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker previously created the performance ‘Partita 2’ and 16 dancers from different generations of Rosas.
