This season the Lyon-based ballet company will once again be surprising us with its striking repertoire choice: three female contemporary choreographers from three different generations will each be presenting their interpretation of Ludwig van Beethoven’s ‘Die Grosse Fuge’. Here you will see three highly contrasting dance pieces!
With Lucinda Childs, you will see a graceful ballet in light blue, performed by six virtuoso and resilient pairs dancing in structured patterns. With Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker the emphasis is on exuberant joy and youthful energy. Maguy Marin’s ‘Grosse Fugue’ is completely different. In her typical tragicomic style, this French choreographer has created a danced quartet of girls sporting orange-red dresses and bare feet.
