Brice Leroux - vzw Continuum
Quasar-quatuor
In the world of conceptual dance, Brice Leroux is in a category of his own. This young French dancer and choreographer joined Rosas, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker's company, at the age of nineteen. In 1999, he created his first solo, 'Continuum', a name he later gave to his own company. His minimalist movement idiom is characterised by virtuosity and mathematical precision. In 2002, he made 'Gravitations-quatuor', in which four dancers indefatigably follow circular tracks of light projected in the semi-darkness, as if in an obsessive ritual. 'Gravitations-quatuor' is a hypnotic exploration of perception and space, a spiritual experience in which the circular and ovoid patterns allude to the cosmos. Brice Leroux created a sequel to it in April 2004, called 'Creation 2004', this time focusing on hand and arm movements. The two parts are offered on a double ticket.
PLEASE NOTE! The two performances have been cancelled.
