Dance in the Crossroads

‘Dance in the Crossroads’ is a three-day event featuring dance performances and discussions about dance at the crossroads between a range of cultures. Choreographer Fabián Barba is the curator. He studied modern dance in his native country Ecuador before training in Brussels at P.A.R.T.S., Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker’s international dance school. Along the way, he increasingly saw himself as someone who is part of two dance traditions that are related to each other in a complex way. For ‘Dance in the Crossroads’ he now invites fellow choreographers to present their work at deSingel. All come from migrant backgrounds, which form the starting point for their artistic practice.
