Daniel Linehan & Hiatus

Original, playful and humorous. Daniel Linehan continues on his idiosyncratic course with a new dance performance for which he drew inspiration from the British philosopher Timothy Morton. He juxtaposes our hierarchical way of thinking about living beings with a more ecological starting point in which humans, animals and things are interwoven. Because human beings' desire to afford themselves a special status, which distinguishes them from other living creatures, is precisely what has led to today’s ecological problems. 
Linehan follows the ecological train of thought and strives for a symbiosis between dance, music, costumes and scenography. ‘sspeciess’ balances between fluid movement and stillness, between improvisation and script, and between solidarity and solitude. Once again made in deSingel!
