François Chaignaud & Nino Laisné
Romances Inciertos, un autre Orlando
A solo by the dancer and choreographer François Chaignaud! In ‘Romances Inciertos’ he again demonstrates his interest in unusual forms of dance and his passion for history, song and music. Together with Nino Laisné, a versatile artist who tacks between video, photography and music, he combines popular Spanish folk dances like flamenco and jota with classical ballet. The music is grounded in Spanish oral traditions from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Throughout these melodies, Chaignaud and Laisné were seduced by a series of sexually ambiguous characters, similar to Virginia Woolf’s ‘Orlando’, to which the title alludes. On stage you’ll see François Chaignaud, accompanied by four baroque musicians, in a non-stop dialogue with music, song and dance. The scenography draws on an arsenal of historical references. Solidly underpinned creativity from an all-round talent, and co-produced by deSingel with total conviction.
