The artistic paths of dancers and choreographers Marc Vanrunxt and Jan Martens regularly cross. Their encounters and artistic exchanges now culminate in a solo for Jan Martens. For ‘Lostmovements’, the makers delve into the past. They seek out forgotten movements, but also new motifs for the future (of dance). All sorts of movements are examined. Structured, free, tender, decorative and brutal. Will this solo become a prelude, an overture to a subsequent work? Or can you expect a sort of dance archive? Or will ‘Lostmovements’ perhaps be a follow-up to ‘Solo voor duizend mannen’, which Marc Vanrunxt created in 1982? Jan Martens and Marc Vanrunxt are keeping their own counsel. Come and see.
