duration
1h 20' Gabriela Carrizo and Franck Chartier take you with them to a hybrid world somewhere between dance and theatre. Pure slapstick alternates with dark, or sometimes pitch-black humour. Time and time again, Peeping Tom seeks out the thin dividing line between dream and reality, and the decor further emphasises this duality. ‘32 rue Vandenbranden’ (2009) is a classic from the company’s repertoire. A community lives in a remote caravan site. The falling snow is both enchanting and isolating. What does the isolation do to these people? Much of the time, the way they believe things are unfolding does not match what is really going on. Their fear isolates them in their own world. Carrizo and Chartier thus illuminate the dark sides of individual and community. They explore how the subconscious can play havoc with even the most liberated person, and can prevent him from escaping from his roots, his family and his culture.
