Philippe Decouflé is an established name at in deSingel. Since 1987 audiences have had ten opportunities to enjoy his dance performances, which all have their own peculiarities. And to celebrate this, deSingel has decided to co-produce his latest performance. ‘Contact’ is a performance within a performance. You could almost describe it as a ‘contradiction’, as both the front and back of the stage play a role. You follow the creative process behind the scenes, from the first stirrings of an idea until the night of the premiere. Will it be a success? Or a complete flop? Setbacks and unforeseen circumstances are unavoidable. ‘Contact’ is the story of a collective experience. It reveals what the company has experienced over the years during the creative process and on tour. But reality is not easy to show: you have to distort, transform, and keep it at a proper distance. This new artistic adventure will take the form of a musical comedy that explores the boundaries of the genre. A parody that both enlarges and reduces, with movements taken from everyday life.
