Philippe Decouflé’s new creation consists of short pieces, each on a different theme. These came about at different points in time and are now being placed in the same setting. Unlike his previous pieces, Decouflé searches for simplicity and intimacy by combining solos with duets and a quintet. One example is the dance by two bears. Since these wild bears came out of the forest and mountains and into the world of humans to perform their tricks, they have become rather melancholy. So it’s high time for a solo that tells a story about a black hole in a white space; about a corridor between two worlds. The whole thing is rounded off with a quintet danced to music by Vivaldi. Curious? Shortly after the premiere in La Rochelle, Decouflé will be our guest here in Antwerp!
