1h Have you ever thought how many memories are contained in a performance? Vincent Dunoyer, who danced with Rosas for many years, confronts the choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker with her own career. He created a solo for her which refers to the history and idiom of Rosas. For 'Sister' he appealed to the memory and know-how of Fumiyo Ikeda. This dancer embodies almost the entire archives of Rosas' work over twenty-five years, as she has been a dancer with the company almost constantly since 1983. All Fumiyo Ikeda's dance poses were photographed. Vincent Dunoyer then asked about thirty Rosas dancers and ex-dancers to each write a new phrase of movement between two of these recorded dance poses. By threading these short dances together he then created a new choreographic work. The result is a unique synthesis of the dancers' experiences, and the history of Rosas and of himself. 'Sister' comprises a duplicated solo danced by two magnificent performers: Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Vincent Dunoyer. The first dances his choreography and the second follows. How do the two of them tell this complex story? How do they colour-in the movements, each in their own way? A new story is generated. Here they come!
