Vogue, a dance form that came out of the Harlem underground in the 1970s, is an ode to fashion and to queer people of colour. For them, the ballrooms were a safe haven where they could be completely themselves. Since then, an international community has formed around this dance style with a variety of categories, techniques and forms of expression. Luscious 007 leads the Antwerp platform Vogue Bootcamp Belgium, in which workshops are staged where participants learn to express themselves in different categories, from ‘Runway’ to ‘Body’ to ‘Hands Performance’. For the past two years, DE SINGEL has been a supporting partner of this organisation.

In December 2022, Luscious 007 curated a Major Ball in the Music Studio for the first time. During this competition – which is also a community celebration – participating dancers give the best of themselves on the runway. An international jury selects a winner in each category. Now it is time for a rematch with The Gift of Life Ball. Expect an intense experience, delivered by a close-knit community.

Sensoa - Flemish expertise centre for sexual health - will be present at The Gift of Life Ball from 17:00 to 20:00 to answer your questions about HIV and STIs, PrEP, chemsex, sexual violence and sexpositivity. Those who want can get free and anonymous HIV testing via a quick saliva test. Condoms and lubricant will be available free of charge.
