1h 40' Choreographer goes theatre! Wim Vandekeybus takes on a Greek classic seen through the eyes of Jan Decorte. Making your mother your lover by mistake and on discovering this putting out your own eyes in your misery. This horrible incident is what happened to Oedipus. Jan Decorte made his own version of 'Bet Noir'. Stripping a text to the bone and reducing it to its essence, in an idiom that is both highly visual and physical. It is no coincidence that Wim Vandekeybus chose this material. Recurring themes in his work are danger, imminent catastrophe and instinct. For many years he has created movement theatre that makes virtuoso use of a large variety of media. Fourteen outstanding performers will work with the Oedipus myth, accompanied live by the blues musician Roland Van Campenhout. Acting and dance merge into a dazzling whole. Drama with a new slant, with doors that open onto an endless number of forms of imagination.
