Vandekeybus does not regard himself as a thoroughbred choreographer, and yet in all his performances the instinctive, restlessly moving body plays a central role; and energy, tension and drama are encapsulated in the movement. ‘TrapTown’ again promises to be a vibrant dance performance. Past oracles and ecstasies, melancholy and regret, catharsis and euphoria, Vandekeybus transports you to a world of extremes. He appeals to your imagination with another fantastic cast of performers. The text is by Pieter De Buysser, the film footage by Vandekeybus himself, and the soundtrack by Trixie Whitley and Phoenician Drive.
