Kris Verdonck en Aernoudt Jacobs (B)
Tutorials pt. III: Over deuren en vensters: initiatie in subversieve ruimtes
The 'Tutorials' given by the dramatist and artist Kris Verdonck and the musician Aernoudt Jacobs are based on logical differences in ways of speaking. In their performances they use a jargon that is so specialised, so precise, that it seems no longer to mean anything. Or rather, means a great deal, but to very few people. The unforeseen incomprehensibility of their speech activates new forms of understanding. The first step in the 'Tutorials' was seen at dedonderdagen #1: two plasterers plastering a wall. In #2 the wall acted as a writing surface and setting for an intense performance/talk by Professor Jean Paul Van Bendegem. In #3 we are continuing down the same road. The psychoanalyst and philosopher Peter Dyck studied under Jacques Lacan and has a passion for mathematical topology. He will talk about the first, second and third dimensions and introduces such concepts as the Möbius Loop, the 'Kleinbottle' and the 'crosscap'.
