Throughout her career, Denise Luccioni has worked as an assistant, a tour or production manager, a curator, and a translator. From the mid-70s to this day, she has been active in an evolving performing arts scene on both sides of the Atlantic.
Luccioni’s home-made video series retraces where it all started for her: a low-key cutting-edge music and dance festival in Provence, and legendary Bénédicte Pesle’s Artservice International in Paris. The other episodes then each focus on one of the artists or groups she worked with in various capacities: from Steve Paxton and Trisha Brown to Merce Cunningham, and from Richard Foreman to Grand Magasin and Big Art Group. This is a rare opportunity to discover portraits of a few decisive actors in the evolution of the arts, guided by a witness turned explorer.
During CARTA '26, the videos will be shown on a continuous loop in the on_off_space.
