René Jacobs, Patricia Kopatchinskaja and the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin will be the celebratory cherry on the cake of the 'Mozart con brio' series.
With its pointed contrasts and eccentric structure, the Fourth Violin Concerto is perfect for born violinist Kopatchinskaja. Her ability to keep on winning audience's hearts with her spectacular playing technique is unparalleled. And as a bonus, you'll be getting an extra Mozart violin concerto thrown in. Musical fireworks guaranteed.
For this concert too, René Jacobs selects Mozart's 'Linz' Symphony and Haydn's 91st Symphony. Mozart wrote his 36th Symphony in barely four days while staying in the city of Linz in 1783. Haydn completed his 91st Symphony five years later, in 1788.
This concert is a unique opportunity to hear conductor René Jacobs at work at deSingel again after so long, in a brilliant instrumental programme with his much-loved Mozart as the main composer. Jacobs is the perfect Mozart director, with flawless musical taste, improbable tempi and an overwhelming dynamism.
