The pianist Alexander Melnikov has compiled an eccentric programme for you. Because for many people the composer Paul Hindemith is still an outsider. His music has long been one of Melnikov’s great loves. So it must be time to bring it into the light of day again. And Melnikov’s companions are more than a match for it. Together, they demonstrate that Hindemith is inventive, modernist and accessible. Sometimes deeply tragic, sometimes humorous. But always a delight to the ear.
