Alice Sara Ott performs lyrical Beethoven sonatas with unique emotional depth
Alice Sara Ott has become one of the most streamed classical artists in the world. Above all, the German Japanese pianist is a musician with a heightened sense of structure and lyricism. She proves this at DE SINGEL with three piano sonatas by Beethoven, including the beloved Moonlight Sonata - always a joy to hear it in its entirety - and work by John Field. The pianist, who also works as an illustrator and designer, thereby steps onto the threshold of 19th-century Romanticism. An era characterised by breaking the rules of the classical sonata form and a search for new paths. This is how the Irish composer and pianist John Field came up with the nocturne, a form of which Chopin later gratefully took advantage. A recital akin to a 19th century rollercoaster ride, brimming with emotion.
