Ana Moura (1979) is a fadista of the youngest generation. Her performances are pure, without frills, simple and sincere. Her career started in the 'Senor do Vinho' fado house in Lisbon where she was discovered by the owner Maria de Fe. She recorded her first CDs 'Guarda-me a vida na mão' and 'Aconteceu' with the famous fado producer Jorge Fernando. Since then her star has been rising all over the world.
Together with the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, Ana Moura seeks the roots of fado. Together they give this sentimental Portuguese song new arrangements and additional instrumental colours. They mix intimate and dazzling traditional gems and play on contemporary themes. As at previous concerts in deSingel - with Bart Moeyaert and Jordi Savall - the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble once again performs in a theatrical setting that underpins the quest for the heart of fado. Passion and a hunger for adventure are still the driving forces for these born musicians.
