Pianist Arcadi Volodos presents an evening of musical poetry
In 2025, Arcadi Volodos made his highly anticipated debut at DE SINGEL. Just a year later, this exceptional pianist is already returning, and the wait hasn't been long! Since 2019, Volodos has focused exclusively on the solo piano repertoire, with each of his recitals ranking amongst the most captivating and masterful piano performances of the moment. It's no surprise that he has already received two Gramophone Awards and an Echo Klassik Prize.
Volodos plays as a poet speaks: without haste, with an understanding of the sound of every word. In this recital, there is no bravado for bravado’s sake, but a pianist who takes his time, allows the silence to speak, and gives meaning to every detail.
From Chopin’s Mazurkas to Schubert’s Sonatas: in Volodos's hands, they do not become static monuments, but pure, living music. No display of virtuosity, no grand gesture, but a pianist who listens as he plays - and takes the audience along into that same listening.
