In the world of Bach, the Japanese conductor, organist and harpsichordist Masaaki Suzuki is known as an absolute authority. Bach Collegium Japan, which he set up in 1990, is famous for its authentic interpretations of Bach’s religious oeuvre, and is therefore a regular guest on the most renowned international stages. In 1995 the then still-young group proposed to record all Bach’s cantatas chronologically. The wide interest in this ambitious project was translated into near-universal acclaim upon its completion in 2013. After many years of absence, they are once again touring in Europe, including an unmissable stop in Antwerp. Come and discover how these baroque masterpieces come back to life under the mature care of Bach Collegium Japan!
