Barokorkest B'Rock olv. René Jacobs

In the summer of 1788, Mozart wrote no less than three symphonies. They make up a compendium of instrumental mastery and together form a portrait of life as it is. Mankind, dissected in major and minor.
René Jacobs interweaves movements from these symphonies with arias from the three Da Ponte operas of the same period: 'Le Nozze di Figaro', 'Don Giovanni' and 'Così fan tutte'. We are accustomed to these works, but this adds some surprises. Even though this repertoire sounds familiar, subtle dynamic shifts and unexpected articulations easily take your expectations by surprise. Jacobs introduces focus and tension, whereas others would only present drama or pathos. There is nothing routine about this. And his loyal allies B'Rock, Mari Eriksmoen and Johannes Weisser are happy to follow him.
