Belcea Quartet

The Belcea Quartet is 25 years young and is celebrating the occasion with an irresistible programme. First they present you with two of Haydn’s best-loved works. A world away from this classical stability is Janácek’s expressive style, which skips from one thing to another. You rarely get the opportunity to hear both of Janácek’s string quartets in one evening! The first is based on Tolstoy’s eponymous novella, whilst the second is derived from Leos’ foolish later-life infatuation with the young but married Kamila Stösslová.
