BL!NDMAN is celebrating its 30th birthday… with a concert! MINIMAL - MAXIMAL groups together successful pieces and composers that were once part of the ensemble’s artistic DNA: Louis Andriessen, Philip Glass, and ensemble founder Eric Sleichim’s former ‘Maximalist’ colleagues Thierry De Mey and Peter Vermeersch.
After the interval, WATER & FIRE / Händel revisited. The entire BL!NDMAN collective (sax, drums and strings) tackles Georg Friedrich Handel’s ‘Water Music’ and ‘Music for the Royal Fireworks’ with the help of a Decap organ! Sandwiched in between these two Baroque icons will be the opening movement of Jean-Féry Rebel’s lesser-known suite ‘Les Eléments’, a musical hammer blow that was way ahead of its time.
