Brussels Jazz Orchestra olv. Maria Schneider

Over the past quarter century, BJO has enjoyed many wonderful collaborations and projects. But the most memorable moments were those with Maria Schneider (USA). So BJO is honoured to be able to celebrate its anniversary with her. A multiple Grammy winner, Schneider first worked with BJO in 2000, and in 2002 they shared the stage at deSingel with the much-lauded ‘Sketches of Spain’, which they also performed at the world-famous North Sea Jazz Festival. Although she has her own jazz orchestra, Schneider has said that collaborating with the Brussels Jazz Orchestra inspires her and does credit to her colourful music. So the BJO25 anniversary concert series promises to be an enjoyable reunion. Maria conducts and the Brussels Jazz Orchestra plays a selection from her impressive oeuvre, including a considerable amount of new repertoire.
