Anyone who has already seen Waltz with Bashir on the big screen will know what an overwhelming experience the film is. With his unique, animated documentary, director Ari Folman delves into his own past and into his own  memories of the Lebanese civil war. Through discussions with his army colleagues, the horrors of that period gradually filter back in. Waltz with Bashir pushed the boundaries of the genre and raked in film prize after film prize: a Golden Globe, a César, and also… a European Film Award for Max Richter’s haunting soundtrack. And rightly so, because with his rarefied strings and rich synthesiser soundscapes, the British composer pumped every frame full of emotion. The brand-new string orchestra BRYGGEN, conducted by violinist Jolente De Maeyer, will ensure you experience this animated documentary like never before, by performing the music live to accompany the film.
