For the second season in a row, with ‘Building Bridges’ we’ll be supporting András Schiff’s project to give young pianists a helping hand on the way to the concert platform. Once again over the past year, Schiff has been keeping his ears pricked at masterclasses and auditions all over the world to select these exceptional pianists, who are offered the opportunity to give solo recitals in the big concert halls of New York, Berlin, Zurich and Frankfurt, as well as at deSingel! The Romanian Andrei Gologan is first up with the Debussyesque Second Suite by Enescu. He then dives into the fantasy world of Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven. Finally Gologan conjures up Robert Schumann’s Second Sonata. With the original, demonic finale that even went over Clara Schumann’s head.
