ChampdAction & Ensemble Mosaik & Ensemble Orchestral Contemporain

Six completely new commissioned pieces, one each from selected successful young composers! This is the result of a project inspired by a quote from 'Multitude' by the sociologist Negri, which attracted entries from over a hundred and sixty candidates. Each came up with a concept designed to fit one of the three music ensembles taking part, which was then worked out in more detail during a residency with the chosen ensemble. As a result of this, ChampdAction will be performing new work by Hikari Kiyama (JPN) and Johannes Kreidler (D), Ensemble Mosaik will be interpreting a composition by Aurelio Edler-Copes (BRA/IT) and Eduardo Moguillansky (ARG/D), and Ensemble Orchestral Contemporain will be playing a creation by Aurélien Dumont (F) and Christopher Trapani (USA). The idea behind this exchange is that musicians, composers and specialists in art forms such as electronics or video have the potential to boundlessly inspire one another. Linking them up results in cross-pollination at the very least, and at best leads to surprising, inventive connections.
