The young Lithuanian conductor Mirga Grazinyte-Tyla has an exceptional musical talent and packs an infectious punch, with which she triumphed at her London debut as the brand new Music Director of the fabulous City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

In his Sixth Symphony, the ‘Pastoral’, it was not his native land, but the incomprehensible natural world upon which Beethoven trained his spotlight in five varied, bucolic scenes.
