They describe themselves as ‘harmless modern Vikings’. These three Danish violinists were not yet 16 when they suddenly formed a quartet with a Norwegian cellist. Many concerts and prizes later, the Danish String Quartet will be making its deSingel debut with what is known as the ‘iron repertoire’: Haydn’s Second Sun Quartet and Beethoven’s First Razumovsky Quartet, sometimes described as the “Eroica of the string quartets”.
