Doric String Quartet

For some time now, the Doric String Quartet has been whipping up quite a storm. Misunderstood for many years, Korngold is like a musical Obelix who has tumbled into a cauldron of late-Romantic magic potion. After creating sumptuous operas like 'Die tote Stadt', he distinguished himself for some time as a film composer. Now it's time for a serious re-evaluation. The group has already dedicated two CDs to him, both of which have been overloaded with five-star reviews. In his final string quartet, the 'Hollywood Kapellmeister' looks back over his life with a smile and a tear. The warmth and tenderness of the 'Sostenuto' section alone knows no equal in the quartet canon.
